Elliott Aviation Seeking EASA Certification For Digital Flight Data Recorder in Beechjet 400 400A & Hawker 400XP Aircraft
Company to Showcase Avionics, Interiors and Paint Upgrades at EBACE2009 Booth 1098
MOLINE, Ill. – May 7, 2009 – Elliott Aviation today announced that the Moline, Ill.-based business aviation services company is seeking supplemental type certification (STC) from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the installation of a Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) in a Beechjet 400/400A and Hawker 400XP aircraft. The certification aircraft, a Czech Republic-registered 400, is also receiving a new Hawker 400XP interior and fresh paint at Elliott Aviation’s aircraft refurbishment center at Quad Cities International Airport (MLI).
“Our DFDR solution is another example of how we are applying our in-house engineering and avionics expertise to create customer-focused solutions,” said Mark Wilken, Elliott Aviation director of avionics sales and product development. “We are able to install the DFDR quickly and efficiently and with minimal lead time, which helps both buyers and sellers of these aircraft complete the transaction in a timely manner.”
“We’ve had significant demand for pre-owned Beechjets from European-based businesses and individuals, but without the EASA-required DFDR, importing a Beechjet into Europe added significant time and expense to a transaction. Our DFDR solution will provide greater opportunities for European buyers to acquire a Beechjet or Hawker 400XP,” said Dennis Murphy, Elliott Aviation director of international aircraft sales and acquisitions, adding that in addition to upgrading aircraft avionics, many of Elliott Aviation’s acquisition clients will install a new interior and have the aircraft repainted before delivery.
“We offer our customers a complete turn-key acquisition service for quality pre-owned aircraft that is both cost-effective and efficient. We handle everything from the initial acquisition and pre-purchase inspection to post-purchase modifications and final delivery of the aircraft in ‘like-new’ condition.” he said.
